Treatment for Peanut Allergies
When a person's immune system reacts to peanuts as if they were detrimental to the body, this is known as a peanut allergy. To tell your body to get rid of the peanut allergen and stop swallowing more of it, the immune reaction causes symptoms including tongue swelling, vomiting, and diarrhea. While a peanut allergy can be overcome, most youngsters do not. Peanut allergies typically last for life.

FDA Approves Palforzia
Palforzia was authorized by the FDA for commercial use in patients as an oral immunotherapy to lessen the severity of allergic reactions to peanuts, including anaphylaxis, when they are exposed to them on January 31, 2020. Palforzia is only licensed for usage in patients who have a documented peanut allergy and are between the ages of 4 and 17. Patients who started Palforzia before or at the age of 17 can continue to take it if they are 18 years old or older.
What is Palforzia?
Palforzia is a powder derived from peanuts. Through a process known as oral immunotherapy, it decreases the severity and occurrence of allergic reactions. When it comes to allergies, immunotherapy entails exposing a patient gradually to the allergen they are intolerant of, like peanuts in this instance. A small amount of the powder is progressively given to patients until their bodies no longer recognize it as a foreign substance. Read more about Palforzia here.
